Vejaa-  /ve-jaa/                brain – it is Indian slang but also we found in Nepal.  ‘His brain went off’‘tero    vejaa gayo ki k ho?’/ yasko veja gayo!

Baal/baal vayena-           intent- it shows speaker’s hostile way. ‘ta gaye ja, malai baal vayena/ malai baal chaina.  baal is also used with ‘matlab’, Than it is become more aggrisive like, “baal matlab, tero gf ko”.

Baato laag- /ba-to-lag/ go- someone used that word in irritation. Baato lag or batoo tata  is used in    irritate  manner.  ‘ta baato laag, mero dimag nachaat’ .  ‘okay  guys, ma bato lage’   also used in some fine way.
Ghantaa- /ghn-taa/    literals mean a bell/timer/clock but in slang it is used in disgusting or rude        manner. -‘ghantaa garis taile’. – ‘tero exam cha ta ma ghantaa garu’.
420- /char-so-bis/           a crook or fraud- ‘salaa*, 420’.

Turture-                               baby penis- ‘kasto turture dharo raicha’.

*salaa- /sa-la/                   accurate meaning are wife’s brother- but in slang it is rude way to say something to someone.  ‘salaa’ is generally most violent way to say something. ‘salaa, mero gf ta raddi raichee’ or ‘Salaa, exam ta lamo jasto vayo’. Note: we can use ‘salaa’ with other slang word e.g. ‘salaa 420’, salaa turture’.

Raddi- /re-ddi/                 nonsense- we can use this slang combination with other simple word. ‘raddi phone raicha’, raddi tarkaari raichha’. And in slang we can use it as ‘raddi kt raicha’, ta raddi boka raichas’.

Bokaa- /bɐka/                  goat- use for male only, some people doesn’t like this word to be used. It means ‘gay’ sometime or sometime use for cool chap. We have to use it very carefully. If you are not from native tongue do not use this word. E.g.‘kasto boka raichas’.  Sometime it is use for lecherous people. Be careful!


Sadakchhap-                      street-hoodlum- widely use for intimate in purpose to humorous in group.
                                                It is typically used by teen ager.  E.g. ‘oe, sadakchhap tero exam khaile ho?’.
                                                ‘oe sadakchhap, gf le kina choodi talai?’               

Mamaghar-                        prison or jail- often used by police officer. E.g. ‘tero mamaghar ho yo’.   

Gangaajal-                          alcohol- people use it for local alcohol.  E.g. ‘aja pani gangajal piyera aichas ta’.

Sanki- /sɐn-ki/                 Crazy-   E.g. ‘kasto sanki raicha’. Sankaa- ‘oe sankaa, yeta aijo’.

Bungk- /bun-k/                 not present- E.g. ‘aja college bungk gariyo’,  ‘ketaharu k plan 6, bungk garne hoina? It is college slang But nowdays banker also use it.  ‘hannu’ too come with bungk E.g. ‘bungk hannu/bungk hanne’.

Gaffadu- /ga-fa-du/       big liar- E.g. ‘ta khub gafadi vaichhas/ gafadu raichas’.

Annmaraunu-                    to give- it is exercised by old people.  When they are in irritation so they often use this word. E.g.  ‘ yo tayslai amnmaraide’. It means ‘give it to them’.

Haatti- /hat-ti/                 1000 rupee note- E.g. ‘ta sita haati chhaina/ mero hatti harayo’.

Baag- /ba-gɐ/                    500 rupee note- E.g. ‘yo baag change gar ta’.

Taatona-chharo                lacking reason- it is not slang actually but in someway it is use as slang. E.g. ‘taatonachharo ko kura’. It is use in every object like fridge, TV, cassette palyer. ‘tatonacharoo ko luga raicha’.

Kaathe-/ka-the/               people who lived in rural side- this slang is used for dominate those people who are brusquely behaved.  It is more colloquial language but in today’s generation they used for slang.  ‘kaathe or paakhee’ it brings same meaning. E.g.’kasto paakhe/kaathe raicha’.

Khaate- /kha-te/               garbage child- it is pure and strong slang which is extra use by people. It is use with another slang word E.g. ‘salaa khaate ,taysle malai gadha vanyou,’. Most violent, impolite, vulgar, bad-mannered word slang is ‘khaate’.  

Daro- /dɐro/                      standard meaning is ‘strong’-  ‘saale le daro hannyo ni!’ or ‘dude, daro doze dinu parchha’.

Ghadhaa- /ga-dhaa/       donkey- when you are in trouble by other, you can say such type of word. ‘ghadhaa yo k garis’? ‘ghadhaa tero buddhi chhaina’?             

Dose-                                    maximum value- popular among young people who are in drug. ‘daro dose haniyo’.

Lafada- /laf-daa/           fight- another popular slang is ‘lafada’ which is used by many people in Nepal. ‘lafada vayo’, ‘salee sanga pheri pani lafada vayo’.

Mujhi- /mu-jee/              asshole- a most vulgar word. E.g.  ‘mujhi jasto kura nagar’.

Jhakaas- /jhk-ka-sɐ/     superb/excellent- E.g. ‘jhakaas keti raichhe’.

Dhakkan-                            moronic/ over idiot person- E.g. ‘kasto dhakkan raichaa yati pani tha chhaina’.

Fookya- /fǝkya/               a smoker- it is widely used in India but rarely found in Nepal. We had used this slang in college. ‘churoote’ is extra popular in nepali people.

Jhaare-                                 we frequently utter this word in minor or big problem- E.g. ‘jhaare vayo,’

Gidi-                                      troubleness- E.g. ‘taile gidi garis’, ‘gidi vayo yo mula le gardaa’.               

Mula-                                    factual meaning is vegitable-  but we used it frequently to express sarrow/happy/amusement and laughter. ‘mula yo khattam garis’, ‘mula taile jitis hai !, ‘mula yasoko kattu khasyo’.

Pangu- /pǝn-gu/              make a fool of other- we should proud of this slang, it is more useful word to make giggle. E.g ‘tyo kt le ta pangu banai talai’, ‘ta pangu vais’.

Gillaa-                                  silly laugh- E.g ‘tyo mula le mero gilla garyou’.   

Wagleko dhiki-                 to sleep- pure nepali slang. E.g ‘ma wagleko dhiki lageko jasto lade’.

Paat-                                     friend- E.g. ‘paat, EPL heris?’


Galat-faimii-                      misunderstanding- ‘la, Galat-famimii vaye jasto chha’!

Aachi/aachhaya-              original meaning is stool-to express amusement. If u done some silly mistake, you can use this. For example ‘aachi/aachhya yo k vhayo’,

Fooltu-                                 to drink- E.g. ‘ma fooltu hune ho aja’.

Uddnu/udiss-                   gone/finished- see you are gone. E.g ‘her ta ta gais’, laa ta ta udiss’. (Use for making laugh).

Dhywa- /dhƏwa/           money- E.g. ‘aja sukko dhywa chhaina’.


Geda-                                   small ball (it denote testicals)/really bad - it creates huge bad manners in sentence. E.g. ‘geda jasto’! geeda jasto kura nagar’.

Maal-                                    beautiful/prostitute/points (in cards) - ‘kasti jhakaas maal raiche’, or ‘kaay maal thi’.   ‘aja jitla jasto chha, maal pariraachha’ (playing cards).

Raag- /raɠ/                         does bluff- don’t just bluff off. E.g. ‘raag dherai nachhod tero niyat pani tha chha’.

Dammi-                                gorgeous- your cloths are very awkward! E.g. ‘daami chha la tero lugaa’.


Pakaunu/paaknu-            bother- don’t bother me. E.g.’ malai napakaa, tero kura le ma paaki sake’.


Chikna-                                smooth/good looking- good looking person/things. E.g. ‘kasto chiknaa phone bokna thalis ta hmm’. Or ‘kasti chiknaa gf raichh tero’.

Sollid-                                   tough/fabulous- E.g ‘sollid kaam gariyo la’. Or ‘keta, solid jhaapu dis taile’.

Dharo-                                  really good- E.g. ‘dharo garinchha voliko exam’.


Bindaas-                              good mood- E.g. ‘paat,khub bindas chhas, kt pataiys ki k ho’.

Pataunu-                              tempt- E.g. ‘taysle ganina aba kaslai pataune ta sathii’.

Passa-                                  friend- E.g. ‘hello passa, k chha?’

Lachhaar-pato                   worthless- E.g. tero kaam le lachhar-paato layo’. Regularly, it is used in tense.

Jhaarpaat-                           nonsense/waste/- it is used in just one word. When u disagreed in some point than u can say in one word ‘jhaarpaat!’ like ‘heck’

Taato-na-charo                 rubbish/trash- to express strong disbelief in someone, we can use it. E.g. ‘taato-na-chaaro guf garchha’.
